Matt Moore Might Be In Miami’s QB Mix

Last week, we reported that Marc Bulger could be an option to solve the Miami Dolphins’ mess at the quarterback position. Recently, the Palm Beach Post surmised that another name could be garnering some attention – Carolina’s Matt Moore.

In four NFL seasons, Moore has never been able to work his way into a full-time starting role. First, he sat behind Jake Delhomme. Then last year he lost his job to second-round pick Jimmy Clausen.

Once the lockout ends, Moore becomes an unrestricted free agent and with Clausen and top overall pick Cam Newton expected to battle for the starting job, Moore will likely be allowed to walk. The list of available quarterbacks is expected to be thin this year with the Eagles looking less eager to trade Kevin Kolb and the Bengals holding firm that they will not move Carson Palmer.

Whenever the labor situation is finally straightened out, expect the Dolphins’ QB search to be a pretty intensive one.
